Finally!
More good news! I weighed in just below 230 today. BELOW 230!
I believe it is due to the Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract I started taking a few weeks ago. Not only does it increase your energy but it helps you burn fat without any changes to diet or exercise! I am only taking one pill a day but may increase it to the normal dose of two pills a day, as my body gets used to it.

The Right Direction
Finally, I am back to going in the right direction. I have started fasting (water only) again once a week and increasing number of days. The purpose is not for weight loss. It is for spiritual growth. But, as I deepen my spiritual growth I am stronger in self-control and discipline so it does help with weight loss in the long run. I have continued to work out on a regular basis for well over a year now. I have learned the importance of increasing my heart rate when working out. So I have begun to do this as well. Why didn't I know this before. If I ever become a fitness coach I will make sure everyone knows it is a necessity to keep track of our heart rate especially if they are trying to lose weight. I had my BMI read today and that has even gone down a little. My BMI is 36.2 down from 36.9 and my body fat percentage is 41.7%. Since a BMI of 30 or higher is obese it is my goal to get it below 30. Looking back, I feel I did not truly believe I would ever get it down but now I know I can and I will never give up even if it takes the rest of my life!

Wellness Begins in the Mind
Wellness is about living life well. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary wellness is the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal. Basically anything that helps a person achieve a healthy lifestyle is considered an aspect of wellness. A biblical worldview of wellness involves following God’s recipe for life which includes staying away from too many rich foods, not over-eating or drinking, maintaining self-control, remaining sexually pure and getting adequate rest (Pro. 23:2-3 & 21, Pro. 25:28, Heb. 13:4, Exodus 31:15).
In the secular world wellness involves health and financial well-being. The secular worldview might emphasize the latter more than the biblical worldview. Those who are in the world chase after money and prestige but as scripture states, “… the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1 Tim. 6:10) and “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’”(Heb. 13:5). God does not desire for man to be in want and He promises to provide everything man needs in accordance with His will (Phil. 4:19). Another major difference is in “keeping the marriage bed pure” (Heb. 13:4). This is not a priority in today’s secular world.
People must have accurate thinking when it comes to wellness. Scripture says that man can change his behavior by changing the way he thinks (Rom. 12:1-2). Kessler (2009) shared how his thinking changed, “Once, I thought a big plate of food was what I wanted and needed to feel better. Now I see that plate of food for what it is – layers of fat on fat on sugar on fat that will never provide lasting satisfaction and only keep me coming back for more” (p.200). If Americans stay ignorant, living a fast-food, fast-paced lifestyle then heart disease, diabetes, and cancer will continue to increase while wellness remains a faint dream of only the few.
