Day Five, Six and maybe Seven

To Do:
Create a meal plan, schedule exercise, drink lots of water, and pray to God for help!

Exercise:
none

Daily Scripture: 2 Chronicles 6:36-39
If they sinned against you-and who has never sinned?-you might become angry with them and let their enemies conquer them and take them captive to a foreign land faraway or near. But in that land of exile they might turn to you in repentance and pray, ‘We have sinned, done evil, and acted wickedly.’ If they turn to you with their whole heart and soul in the land of their captivity and pray toward the land you gave to their ancestors-toward this city you have chosen, and toward this Temple I have built to honor your name-then hear their prayers and their petitions from heaven where you live, and uphold their cause. Forgive your people who have sinned against you.

Thoughts: We all have sinned. We all need forgiveness. We all need to know that we are forgiven. God wants to use us for His glory and teach us to honor him in all our ways. Surrender your life to Him and he will use you.

Prayer: I have sinned against you O’God, in your great mercy forgive me and make me whole, complete and righteous in Your sight. May I be an instrument in Your hands to be used to glorify yourself! Amen!

Inspirational Thought:
Each day is a new beginning!

Discussion Question:
Would you like to just start over?

Exercise:

Daily Scripture: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philipians 1:6 (NIV)

Devotion: We must hide God’s word in our hearts so that we know His Truth. He started this planet, the whole universe in fact, we are all here for a reason, a good reason. My hope is that I will not have wasted my life, that I would be pleasing to Him, but we are not perfect. Only Jesus is perfect. Only by his blood are we made clean and worthy of His calling. May each of our days be marked by Him, completed, so that we will be ready when He comes.

Prayer:
O’ Lord, You are worthy of all my praise. Teach me to walk in your Way, in your Truth, utilizing your Power so that you may be blessed. In Jesus name, Amen!

Inspirational Thought:
I enjoy eating healthy!

Discussion Question:
What types of healthy foods do you enjoy eating?

Well, I wasn’t that naughty! Oh, be quiet! What did you eat?

Exercise:
I did not workout today! But, I worked out yesterday and the day before! For me that is improvement!

Daily Scripture:
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

Devotion:

I have been overweight since I was about 8. I nearly became anorexic at age 12. And again at age 17, but it only helped me achieve looking a normal weight. I still was told by others that I was overweight, I still felt overweight. Looking back, I can see in photos of myself, I did not look overweight at all! I would love to be that size now! I think when we are young and our bodies are going through so many growing stages it is difficult to maintain a healthy perspective and image especially when we compare ourselves with others. God does not want us to compare ourselves with each other (Gal. 6:4). He made us all separate, unique and solely different from each other. Just as we should eat a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables we are a beautiful variety of culture, personality, and people!

Prayer:
Sweet Jesus, Thank you for all my friends and family. Please bless them and give them strength in all their endeavors. May they grow close to you through life’s trials. Please give me the strength to resist temptation!

In your name I ask, Amen!

Inspirational Thought:
I am strong in the Lord!

Discussion Question:

Will you pray for the Lord to teach me how to resist temptation?

How can I pray for you?
